Ethos

“Be the change you wish to see in the world”

At Golf in Society, our mission is to improve the lives of our ageing population by introducing them to the health and wellbeing benefits of golf. We do this by creating opportunities for people to discover how their local golf club can become an integral part of a happier, healthier life.

Everything we do is designed with the people we support at the heart of it.

Our services are created and delivered by a team of “proper people” with lived experience, who are determined to make a positive contribution to the lives of others.

By co-designing all our services in partnership with our customers, it enables us maximise the positive impact we have on their lives.

For us, it’s all about creating opportunities for people to live a full and active life. Whether you’re living with a chronic illness, a carer seeking a break from the challenges of unpaid care, or someone who is trying to get their life back on track, we offer you the chance to do so at your local golf club.

We believe that by giving people the human right to keep enjoying the things they love, that make them tick, that spark them into life, you can provide them with  renewed hope.

Everyone at Golf In Society shares a set of core values:

  • Dignity
  • Respect
  • Compassion
  • Togetherness

I always say to my team, “if you treat your customers like your mum and dad, you won’t go far wrong”. It’s a simple, but highly effective message and encompasses everything we stand for.

By providing people with the opportunity to discover a renewed sense of purpose, relax and enjoy beautiful natural surroundings, and the chance to meet new people.

However, we realise that we cannot do it alone… that’s why collaboration and partnership  with fellow healthy ageing stakeholders is important to us….

Only by listening to, and co-designing adult support services in partnership with the service users themselves,  will we solve the crisis in adult care facing our nation.

So join us in embracing innovation, breaking down traditional barriers, and empowering social entrepreneurs to create the brighter future our ageing society so richly deserves.

  1. Fantastic organisation. I have just looked on your website after a carer I’m supporting told me about you and the break she can have knowing her husband is being looked after many thanks

    1. Hi Karen. Sincere thanks for your kind feedback. We’d like to get the message out to more carers needing support. I wondered whether Carer’s First could help us spread the word? I’ve got an info pack I could send you if you feel it’s appropriate. Many thanks. Anthony
